A Webster, Massachusetts man has been arrested for indecent assault and battery on a child. The Webster Police Department reports that its detectives opened an investigation in June after a juvenile reported that an adult man exposed himself.
WPD says it identified the man as 68-year-old John Nichols. Detectives say the victim had been swimming at Webster Lake with Nichols. While in the water, the victim claimed that Nichols took off his swimming suit and exposed his genital area to the victim.
It is also alleged that Nichols made inappropriate remarks to the victim about swimming without clothes on. Detectives say they learned that Nichols had inappropriately touched the victim while caring for them during a separate incident.
A second young victim came forward and provided information regarding inappropriate touching. WPD says Nichols has been charged with two counts of Indecent Assault and Battery on a Child Under 14 and Open & Gross Lewdness. He is being held on $50,040 cash bail.
