Washington State Patrol announces arrest of suspect in December homicide investigation

The Washington State Patrol has announced the arrest of a suspect in a homicide investigation from December. On December 1, 2023 around 6:55 p.m., WSP received a call from the Burien Police Department that they had found a deceased individual under the South 146th Street overpass of SR 509.

The victim, who had been stabbed to death, was later identified as Robert Thomas. WSP detectives say they developed probable cause to arrest 32-year-old Nathaniel Scott on January 11, 2024. Scott was booked into the King County Jail on 2nd Degree Murder.

Formal charges were filed by the King County Prosecutor’s Office during the week of January 15, 2024.
