Warsaw Police announce charges against two in child abduction case

Warsaw, North Carolina – The Warsaw Police Department has announced charges against two people in connection to a child abduction case that spanned multiple jurisdictions.

According to WPD, 45-year-old Larnell Simpson and 25-year-old Victoria Corey were apprehended in Duplin County. Simpson and Corey are charged with 1st Degree Kidnapping and Felony Child Abuse.

They are being held without bond at the New Hanover County Detention Facility. Authorities say the incident started when a court order mandated that custody of the infant be transferred to the Department of Social Services due to concerns about the child’s wellbeing.

Authorities allege that Simpson and Corey fled the area with the child. They were later apprehended in Duplin County.
