Walton County Sheriff’s Office investigating shooting near Wagon Wheel Bar

Update – The Walton County Sheriff’s Office has arrested an adult and a juvenile following the shooting near the Wagon Wheel bar. 19-year-old Armand Holmes and 16-year-old Memphis Carter are charged with shooting within 1,000 feet of a person, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and using a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Original – Authorities are investigating a shooting near the Wagon Wheel Bar in DeFuniak Springs. In a social media post, the Walton County Sheriff’s Office reports that the shooting occurred over the weekend in DeFuniak Springs.

WCSO received a report of gunfire just after midnight on Saturday. A witness informed authorities they had heard several rounds fired while standing in the bar’s parking lot on State Highway 83.

WSCO deputies responded to the scene and located shell casings. WSCO says there were no reported injuries or reports of property damage. Criminal Investigations Bureau investigators responded and located a suspect vehicle in DeFuniak Springs.

Persons of interest were identified. The vehicle was impounded for processing. No additional details are available at this time.
