Victoria Police investigating non-fatal shooting in Maidstone

Victoria Police are investigating a non-fatal shooting in Maidstone on 6 June. Victoria Police report that a man was shot in the upper body in Maidstone yesterday afternoon. The Armed Crime Squad is investigating the matter.

The preliminary information indicates that multiple people visited the Omar Street address to threaten the house’s occupant around 4.30pm. At some point, a scuffle ensued and a gun was discharged.

A 35-year-old Braybrook man arrived at an area hospital with a non-life-threatening injury. Other occupants of the residence were not physically injured. Victoria Police say four people were arrested at the scene but were released pending additional investigation.

Those detained include a 29-year-old Broadmeadows woman, a 34-year-old Footscray man, a 29-year-old Braybrook man, and a 35-year-old Braybrook man. Police think the shooting was targeted.
