Update – Victoria Police say a 26-year-old man has been arrested in connection to the fatal stabbing of another man in Geelong. Authorities say a 20-year-old was allegedly stabbed during an altercation on Little Malop. The Corio man died at an area hospital.

Two other men arrived at the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. They will be interviewed at a later time, according to authorities.

Original – Victoria Police say its Homicide Squad is investigating a fatal stabbing that occurred in Geelong this morning. Around 5:30 a.m., officers responded to reports of a man with a stab wound on Little Malop Street.

Victoria Police investigators believe the man sustained the injury during an altercation nearby. The 20-year-old male victim from Corio was transported to an area hospital where he passed away.

Victoria Police say two other men involved arrived at the hospital and are being treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities are still investigating the circumstances leading up to the stabbing.
