A 37-year-old is in custody following an investigation into a stabbing in the 60 block of California Street on December 24, 2023, at 5:07 a.m. Jeremy Delgado of Ventura, California was remanded to the Ventura County Jail on an assault with a deadly weapon charge.

Officers with the Ventura Police Department responded to the 60 block of California Street, just south of Main Street, early this morning to investigate a report of a stabbing. Officers found an adult male victim suffering from a stab wound(s).

Ventura Fire and AMR administered treatment at the scene. The victim was subsequently transported to an area hospital.

During the investigation, officers learned a group of individuals were in a fight when Delgado stabbed the male victim with a knife. Delgado remained at the scene and was arrested without incident.
