The Vancouver Police Department says it is looking for a South Asian man who attempted to lure a 13-year-old victim on March 22, 2024. According to a VPD news release, a stranger attempted to coax a teenage boy into performing sex acts last Friday near an East Vancouver Skytrain Station. The incident happened around 8 p.m. on March 22.
The 13-year-old victim was approached by a man near Duchess Street and Euclid. The suspect asked the victim where he lived and where he was going. The boy attempted to walk away. According to VPD, the suspect continued to follow the victim. This time, he asked the teen to perform sexual acts on him.
The boy immediately reported the incident to a family member who called VPD. The suspect is described as a South Asian man in his 20s or 30s. He has a skinny build, short dark hair, and a mustache. The suspect stands around 5’8” and was carrying a blue umbrella. VPD says the suspect spoke with a South Asian accent.
