The Valdosta Police Department has identified the suspects involved in a shooting on August 18. VPD reports that around 4 a.m. on August 18, several citizens called E911 to report hearing gunshots at a residence in the 1300 block of Willow Way.
VPD officers reached the scene where they found a 15-year-old and a 43-year-old suffering from gunshot wounds. The victims were transported to an area hospital for treatment. VPD detectives say they identified the suspects as 27-year-old Richard Faulk and 18-year-old Clavon Jones.
Authorities have obtained arrest warrants for both men. Detectives say it was determined that 47-year-old Erica Breedlove, the mother of the 15-year-old, was using the residence as a party venue. She was allegedly selling alcohol and food along with publicizing that the house could be rented for parties.
Around 4 a.m. on August 18, detectives believe that Beedlove was hosting a party where food and alcohol were being sold while juveniles were present. A physical altercation occurred when subjects wanted to enter the party without making a donation. At some point, the altercation led to gunshots.
Breedlove was arrested for Maintaining a Disorderly House. Marshals with the City also issued her a citation for operating a business without a license. Both victims were treated and released from an area hospital.
Detectives are still searching for Faulk and Jones. Anyone with information is asked to call VPD’s Bureau of Investigative Services at 229-293-3145 or the crime tip line at 229-293-3091.
