Valdosta Police arrest man after dispute turns violent on Hightower Street

After a dispute turned violent on Monday night, one person was injured and another was arrested. The Valdosta Police Department reports that its officers responded to a residence in the 400 block of Hightower Street for a stabbing around 11:30 p.m. on June 24, 2024.

At the scene, officers found a 35-year-old male suffering from an injury to the head. The victim was treated by South Georgia Emergency Medical Service and the Valdosta Fire Department.

Officers were informed that the victim had been in an argument with 34-year-old Malcolm Noel Holsendolph. It is alleged that Holsendolph asked the victim out into the front yard of his residence.

When the victim did, Holsendolph allegedly assaulted him and left the scene. Holsendolph was located at his residence and taken into custody without incident. He is charged with Aggravated Assault and Possession of a Knife During the Commission of a Felony.

The victim was taken to South Georgia Medical Center for treatment of a non-life-threatening injury.
