Vacaville Police looking for hit-and-run driver who injured 73-year-old man and his dog Snowman

The Vacaville Police Department is currently searching for a hit-and-run driver. VPD says a 73-year-old man was out walking his dog, Snowman, around 9:15 p.m. on Monday night. They were hit by a vehicle in the crosswalk at the intersection of Browns Valley Road and Vacavalley Pky.

The man was thrown onto the roadway. Authorities believe Snowman was dragged under the vehicle for some distance before escaping. The driver fled the scene and did not stop to check on the victims.

VPD is asking for help locating the driver of the vehicle. Officers are looking into surveillance cameras in the area. VPD says the victim suffered a dislocated shoulder as well as a fractured hip and femur.

Snowman limped to a nearby home and was eventually reunited with family. Snowman is recovering from his injuries. Anyone with information is asked to contact Traffic Officer Perkins at 707-469-4722. Additional details can be found here.
