Detectives with the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a fatal shooting in Southeast DC. According to authorities, Sixth District officers were dispatched to the 2600 block of Naylor Road SE in reference to a shooting just before 4 PM on December 6, 2023.

Once officers reached the scene, they located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was taken to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. DC Police have identified the victim as 24-year-old Tyejuan Harkum of Northeast DC.
