Lake City, Florida – The Lake City Police Department is currently investigating a double shooting on Saturday morning.
According to LCPD, officers responded to 698 Northwest Mississippi Way for a person shot around 1:24 a.m. on July 5, 2025.
At the scene, officers found an adult male on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound to the lower body.
The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment. The Police Department said its officers found multiple spent shell casings in the roadway and on surrounding private property.
Three vehicles were also damaged. Police say a second gunshot victim arrived at the hospital in a private vehicle during the investigation.
The second victim suffered a non-life-threatening injury. They were treated and released. Authorities say the victim said he was attending a block party when gunfire erupted.
No suspects have been identified at this time, according to police. Chief Gerald Butler said the following.
“We are thankful this incident did not result in any fatalities. However, this level of gun violence is unacceptable, and we are committed to pursuing those responsible. We ask anyone with information to come forward.”
