The Tunica County Sheriff’s Office reports that two men are in custody in connection to the murder of 38-year-old Vandarren McCray. TCSO reports that 30-year-old Tanio Hall and 23-year-old Tavion Crutchfield are in custody.

Authorities carried out a search warrant at a residence at the Kirby Estates Apartments in Robinsonville, Mississippi around 4:12 p.m. on September 4, 2024. Both suspects were taken into custody without incident.

Hall was arrested on outstanding warrants out of Texas for Weapon Offense and Failure to Appear. Crutchfield was taken into custody on outstanding warrants out of Louisiana for False Imprisonment and Battery of Dating Partner – Child Endangerment.

Around 7:52 p.m. on September 2, 2024, TCSO received a call about a person shot at 2669 Kirby Road. Deputies and first responders were dispatched to the scene where one person was found with gunshot wounds.

The victim succumbed to his injuries. The victim was identified as 38-year-old Vandarren Marqueze McCray of Clarksdale, Mississippi.
