Two men have been arrested in connection to the March death of Brian Nardella. The Scranton Police Department reports that officers were dispatched to a multiple vehicle crash on Keyser Avenue near Stanton Street on March 27, 2024.
At the scene, first responders found an unresponsive male trapped inside a vehicle. The man was transported to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries on the same day. The victim was identified as 49-year-old Brian Nardella.
SPD’s Detective Bureau and Highway Unit initiated an investigation of the crash. SPD says it was determined that two drivers in separate vehicles played a role in the crash that took Nardella’s life.
The two men are accused of a road-rage type incident in which Nardella was an unassuming victim. On May 29, 2024, SPD announced the arrests of 44-year-old John Darko and 44-year-old Paul Viscomi. Both are charged with Homicide by Vehicle, Involuntary Manslaughter, Aggravated Assault by Vehicle, Recklessly Endangering, Reckless Driving, and more.
They were booked and released on $250,000 unsecured bail. As a condition of their release, they will not be allowed to operate a motor vehicle.
