The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office has announced charges in connection to the death of Rondell Proctor on May 27, 2010 in Toms River.

According to authorities, 36-year-old Maurice Cole and 41-year-old Jerron Evans are charged with Murder in connection to the death. Around 12:45 a.m. on May 27, 2010, Toms River Township Police Department officers responded to the Winteringham Village Apartments for a reported shooting.

Police say they found 22-year-old Rondell Proctor with several gunshot wounds to the torso and one to the face. The victim was transported to Community Medical Center where he passed away.

Authorities arrested Cole and Evans on December 3, 2024. Officials say that testing of evidential items unavailable at the time of the original investigation resulted in the filing of charges against Cole and Evans.
