On November 25, 2023, McLean County Sheriff’s deputies responded to 1025 East Road in Heyworth, Illinois to investigate a body. At the scene, deputies found a male body in a ditch off the road. The man was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The body was later identified as 31-year-old Jamere D. Bew of Bloomington, Illinois. A preliminary autopsy indicated Bew died from multiple gunshot wounds.

McLean County Sheriff’s Office and Bloomington Police Department arrested 18-year-old Derek P. Siebring and 26-year-old Justin G. Kletz, both of Bloomington, Illinois in connection with Bew’s death.

Kletz and Siebring have been charged with multiple counts of murder, aggravated battery, and kidnaping. Both suspects have been remanded to the McLean County Detention Facility.
