Two fourteen-year-old boys are in custody after being accused of being involved in a fatal shooting on Thursday. The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department said in a media release that the shooting occurred around 10 p.m. on Thursday on University Court. 30-year-old Anthony Lee Buchanan Jr. was found in an alley with multiple gunshot wounds.
Buchanan succumbed to his injuries at the scene. MNPD says MDHA footage recorded the shooting and two suspects fleeing to a nearby apartment. Detectives responded to the apartment in question and located 14-year-old Tyrese Summers and 14-year-old Kimarion Henry.
Authorities also say they found four handguns and a large amount of marijuana and cocaine in the apartment. Detectives say Summers and Henry admitted to their involvement in the shooting during an interview. The shooting allegedly stemmed from the victim stealing $300 from Summers. Both suspects were charged in juvenile court with criminal homicide and juvenile handgun possession.
