Update – In an update, TCSO said that the shooting death of Jermaine Jones has been ruled an accidental shooting. No other details are available.

Original – The Tunica Police Department has identified the victim of a fatal shooting at 2661 Old Highway 61. TCSO reports that it received a 911 call about a person shot at the aforementioned location just before 11 p.m. on August 13, 2024.

Deputies reached the scene and found a male subject lying on the ground next to a vehicle. The victim was suffering a gunshot wound. The victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased by County Coroner Glen Grant.

TCSO says the subject has been identified as 22-year-old Jermaine Jones of Tunica, Mississippi. Anyone with information is asked to call TCSO at 662-363-1411.
