The Tunica County Sheriff’s Office has announced capital murder charges against a 20-year-old Tunica man. According to TCSO, Anthony Carter Jr. has been charged in the shooting death of 23-year-old Steven Burts, 25-year-old Tednequa Moore, Moore’s unborn child, and the death of 24-year-old Deshun Isabell. TCSO says Isabell died due to injuries sustained from a car crash on Casino Center Boulevard in Robinsonville, Mississippi on November 10, 2023.
Carter Jr. is charged with four counts of Capital Murder, four counts of Conspiracy to Commit a Crime, one count of Drive By Shooting, and one count of Shooting into a Motor Vehicle. Carter is also charged in connection to the October 26, 2023 drive-by shooting and attempted murder of Steven Burts. He is also charged in the November 1, 2023 drive-by shooting and attempted murder of Deshun Isabell.
TCSO says Carter is being held at the Tunica County Jail for the attempted murder of Thako Jackson and Denzel Jackson on April 4, 2023. Deonte Taylor remains in custody on charges related to the quadruple homicide that occurred on November 10, 2023. He is charged with three counts of Capital Murder, four counts of Shooting into a Motor Vehicle, and four counts of Conspiracy to Commit a Crime.
TCSO confirms additional charges are forthcoming and more arrests will be made related to the quadruple homicide.
