The Tulsa Police Department has announced the arrest of Bertheophilus Maurice Bailey on multiple charges. TPD’s Special Victim’s Unit obtained an arrest warrant for Bailey on Wednesday before he was arrested by the Fugitive Warrants Unit.

In August 2023, a report was filed with DHS and TPD about Bailey allegedly sexually abusing a family member. During the investigation, TPD says the victim was not yet ready to move forward with prosecuting the suspect.

In September 2024, the victim reached out to TPD’s Special Victims Unit and confirmed she was ready to move forward. When the victim was in the sixth grade, it is alleged that Bailey was praying over her when he began to touch her inappropriately.

He is also accused of performing oral sex on the victim and making her masturbate him. When the victim was 16, it is alleged that Bailey entered her room, removed her clothes, and raped her.

After the victim moved out as an adult, Bailey allegedly came to her house uninvited, pushed her to the ground, and sodomized her. TPD says it has text messages, recordings, and additional witness statements that corroborate the victim’s claims.

Bailey is charged with Rape 1st Degree, Child Sexual Abuse, Incest, Forcible Sodomy, and Burglary 1st Degree.
