The Tulsa Police Department has announced new charges against rape suspect, 26-year-old Yander Ramirez. Since Ramirez’s arrest in April, TPD’s Special Victims Unit has uncovered evidence suggesting that the suspect may have been involved in the rape of two other 15-year-old girls.
TPD says a 15-year-old girl reported she was raped by a man she met through Snapchat using Yander as his username in October 2023. The man initially told her he was 17, but later claimed to be 21. The victim said the man provided her with alcohol and marijuana which caused her to get sick.
The girl eventually passed out. When she woke up, she allegedly found Yander having sex with her in the backseat of his car while holding his phone. SVU Detectives say they found video of Ramirez having sex with the 15-year-old girl in question. An additional charge of First-Degree Rape was filed against Ramirez.
SVU detectives received a case from October 2020. The mother of a 15-year-old girl noticed her daughter was missing for several hours. The girl reported that Ramirez allegedly said he was 19 at the time and that he forced her to perform oral sex on him. Then, he allegedly forced her to have sex.
The case was sent to federal authorities because of the victim’s Native American status. The case has since been presented to the Tulsa County District Attorney’s Office and another charge of 2nd Degree Rape has been filed against Ramirez.
In total, he is charged with 2x 1st Degree Rape, 2nd Degree Rape, Forcible Sodomy, Lewd Molestation, Obstructing an Officer, and DUI.
