The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has announced charges against a Lafayette woman in connection to the fatal shooting of her son. TBI agents began investigating the January 30th shooting of Theodore Taylor at a residence on Rawls Creek Road in Gordonsville.
The TBI says agents developed information suggesting that Trena Roberts caused her son to commit an assault against two men by use or display of a deadly weapon. The TBI also alleges that Roberts caused one of those men to recklessly kill Taylor.
A Smith County Grand Jury returned indictments charging Roberts with one count of Reckless Homicide and two counts of Aggravated Assault. Roberts was booked into the Smith County Jail on a bond of $40,000.
