Tracy Police Department arrests two men for kidnapping a victim

The Tracy Police Department has arrested two men for kidnapping. According to TPD, the department received information about a kidnapping victim who was being held hostage at gunpoint inside a residence in the 1500 block of Lankershire Drive around 4:45 p.m. on March 22, 2024. Authorities responded with the BearCat Armored Recovery Vehicle to surround the residence and rescue the victim.

At the scene, officers used a drone to gather information about the situation. Using the drone officers were able to see one of the suspects fleeing out the back of the residence. 26-year-old Gerado Tornero-Rosales was immediately captured by officers behind the residence. Two others surrendered to officers at the front of the residence. The other suspect has been identified as 24-year-old Angel Lopez-Gutierrez.

The victim suffered minor injuries and received treatment at the scene. After interviews and a search warrant at the residence, Tornero-Rosales and Lopez-Gutierrez were booked into the San Joaquin County Jail. Tornero-Rosales is charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Kidnapping, False Imprisonment, Criminal Threats, and Possession of Methamphetamine.

Lopez-Gutierrez is charged with Rape by Force/Force, Kidnapping, False Imprisonment, and Criminal Threats.
