The Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of 48-year-old Shinitria Daniel Gaines for Theft $5000 – $25000. RPSO reports that the administration of the Town of Ball contacted RPSO about possible misappropriation of town funds on August 29, 2024.

Ball administrators reported that an internal audit was carried out following the release of an employee, 48-year-old Gaines of Pineville. The audit reportedly identified possible financial discrepancies.

The investigation was handed over to the RPSO for criminal investigation. Investigators say it was determined that a crime was committed. Probable cause was established to arrest Gaines for one count of theft.

On September 26, 2024, detectives arrested Gaines at her residence without incident. Gaines is currently being held at the Rapides Parish Detention Center and bail has not been set. No other details are available at this time.
