The Pomona Police Department has announced an arrest in the murder of 25-year-old Andrea Bustillos. According to PPD, Special Investigation Unit officers arrested 43-year-old Tommy Ray Belin for the murder. Around 6:38 a.m. on February 26, 2024, officers responded to a 911 call about a female experiencing a potential fentanyl overdose in the 900 block of West Holt Avenue.
At the scene, officers found an unconscious female with bodily injuries. The victim succumbed to her injuries at the scene. Investigators from the PPD Major Crimes Unit responded to assume control of the investigation. Investigators say they identified Belin as a suspect in connection to the murder.
Belin was apprehended in Upland and booked. The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office has filed charges of Murder, Assault by Means of Force Likely to Produce Great Bodily Injury, and Failure to Register as a Transient After Moving from a Residence.
