The Thurston County Sheriff’s Office reports that it is investigating a homicide after finding a deceased individual on Sunday morning. Authorities say that deputies responded to a call about suspicious circumstances at a residence on 153rd Avenue Southeast near Lake Lawrence just before 8 a.m. on Sunday.

At the scene, deputies were informed that there was a second person inside the house. When deputies made entry into the home, they found an unresponsive man lying on the floor. Authorities say the man appeared to be deceased and no other individuals were found in the home.

Detectives say they developed probable cause to arrest the homeowner for Second-Degree Murder. He was booked into the Thurston County Jail. Police say the deceased man is from the Pierce County area and was not a residence of the home.

It is believed he was a guest at the time. No other details are available at this time.
