Thurston County Sheriff Derek Sanders said in a social media post that deputies had arrested a man who set fire to two houses and was working to douse a third.
According to Sheriff Sanders, TCSO deputies were informed by Grays Harbor LE that a man at a gas station made comments about burning his mother’s house down while filling up gas cans.
An address wasn’t made available, according to authorities. The Sheriff said that deputies discovered there was a protection order in place. A 911 call in from a neighbor who reported a suspicious person talking about burning houses down.
Sheriff Sanders reports that TCSO deputies arrived and the suspect had already lit two houses on fire and was dousing a third house in gasoline.
The suspect allegedly rammed the community’s gate to gain entry. According to the Sheriff, deputies apprehended the suspect who resisted arrest and had to be placed in a WRAP restraint system.
Authorities will book the suspect on multiple counts of Arson 1st Degree, Malicious Mischief, and Violating a Protection Order. Fire personnel safely extinguished the fires.
