The Thornton Police Department is investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred Sunday morning. Around 6 a.m. on March 24, 2024, TPD officers responded to the 2500 block of westbound East 120th Avenue for a report of a hit-and-run. At the scene, it was determined that an adult male pedestrian had suffered serious injuries.

The victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. As investigators worked to identify the vehicle involved and collect evidence, the roadway was closed for several hours. TPD says it is looking for a gray car with front-end damage.

The victim’s identity is being withheld by the Adams County Coroner’s Office pending positive identification and notification of the next of kin. No other details are available at this time.
