A 34-year-old Adams County man is behind bars after being accused of murder. The Thornton Police Department reports that officers learned the location of a red and tan Ford Expedition involved in a homicide at 84th Avenue and I-25 on July 23, 2024.

Officers tracked down the vehicle and apprehended 34-year-old Mathew Lopez. TPD says Lopez was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Adams County Detention Facility on homicide charges.

At this time, the victim’s identity is being withheld. No other details are available.
