Three people are dead following an incident in California on early Thursday. The Rancho Cordova Police Department reported that a female called 911 saying she’d been shot around 1:15 a.m. on May 23, 2024.
Sacramento County Sheriff’s deputies and Rancho Cordova Police officers responded to the scene and found an adult female lying unresponsive outside of the front door. A male, 38-year-old Thomas Konvalin, was witnessed standing inside the doorway.
RCPD says Konvalin refused to comply with deputies’ directives to exit the home and instead barricaded himself inside. Deputies confirmed the female victim at the doorway was deceased. Attempts to communicate with the male failed.
Around 4:15 a.m., Special Enforcement Detail personnel approached the residence with the ROOK. Konvalin reportedly exited the home through a back window while holding a rifle. Two SED deputies shot him three times.
Konvalin was pronounced deceased at the scene. Another male victim was found deceased inside the residence. The victim had been fatally shot. Homicide Detectives believe Konvalin shot and killed his elderly parents, 69-year-old Marylou Konvalin and 72-year-old William Konvalin before the fatal encounter with deputies.
