The Harris County Sheriff’s Office has announced charges in the fatal shooting of a 12-year-old child. HCSO units responded to an apartment at 13921 Alderson near Woodforest and Uvalde. At the scene, it was determined that a suspect had fired shots into the unit hitting a 12-year-old child.

The victim was pronounced deceased. In an update on March 6, 2024, Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said in a social media post that Homicide Investigators had identified the suspect as Terry Bryan Rivera who is charged with Capital Murder. Rivera remains on the run.

He was reportedly in a previous relationship with the victim’s mother and had two children with her. Investigators recovered a grey pickup that is believed to have been used by the suspect during the shooting.
