The Prescott Valley Police Department reports that a teenage bicyclist has died after being struck by a vehicle on Tuesday evening.

PVPD says its officers responded to a traffic crash involving a bicycle and a vehicle on Viewpoint Drive between Manley Drive and Long Mesa Drive around 5:23 p.m. on November 12.

Police say they arrived at the scene where they found a 14-year-old male needing medical attention. The 14-year-old was flown to a Phoenix-area hospital where he passed away, according to police.

Authorities say the individual driving the vehicle was detained and is being investigated. No other details are available at this time.
