Tallahassee Police Department conducting homicide following fatal shooting on Peachtree Drive

Update – The Tallahassee Police Department has arrested one person following a shooting in the 2600 block of Peachtree Drive. The Violent Crimes Unit carried out an investigation that led to the arrest of 17-year-old Immanuel Grant-Hayes. TPD says Grant-Hayes was sitting on a front porch with several individuals. When he manipulated a firearm, he inadvertently shot one of the men sitting nearby, according to authorities.

Following the fatal shooting, Grant-Hayes fled the scene. The victim was found deceased by responding officers moments later. Grant-Hayes has been charged with manslaughter. He surrendered to police and was booked into the Juvenile Assessment Center.
