The Tacoma Police Department is currently investigating a fatal shooting on Wednesday night. Around 8:30 p.m. on October 2, 2024, TPD officers responded to the 9500 block of South Steele Street after receiving multiple reports of gunfire.

At the scene, responding TPD officers were informed by Pierce County Sheriff’s deputies and Washington State Patrol that an adult male victim had been located one block from the original location.

The victim was transported to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. TPD detectives and Crime Scene Technicians are currently investigating the homicide. No one is in custody at this time. No other details are available.
