A person is dead following a shooting in Tacoma, Washington on Monday evening. The Tacoma Police Department reports that its officers responded to the 8400 block of South Tacoma Way for a victim shot.

At the time, the victim was being treated by Lakewood Fire Department personnel. TPD confirms that the adult male victim succumbed to his injuries. The fatal shooting is being investigated as a homicide.
