On November 10, 2023 around 1:33 AM, officers from the Sweet Home Police Department were sent to an incident at 4762 Long Street. A male caller claimed to have killed his wife, was holding his son hostage, and made threats that he’d kill his son and law enforcement if certain demands were not met. As officers were arriving at the scene, a female from the residence phoned the department to report she was playing a video game and someone made online threats to have the police respond to her house.

Officers determined that the initial call was a fictitious report and a possible swatting incident. The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information should contact Officer Pinnegar at 541-367-5181.
