The Swain County Sheriff’s Office has announced charges against a 29-year-old man for murder and attempted murder. Kyle Everett Huskey is facing charges of Murder, Attempted First Degree Murder, Armed Robbery, Possession of Firearm by Felon, Conspiracy to Traffic Methamphetamine by Possession and Transportation, Trafficking Fentanyl, and Trafficking Methamphetamine.

According to a social media post from the Swain County Sheriff’s Office, Huskey is being held at the Swain County Detention Center with no bond. 24-year-old Chasity Marie Taylor is also charged with Trafficking Fentanyl and Trafficking Methamphetamine. She is being held on a $800,000 secured bond.

The Swain County Sheriff’s Office said the arrests stem from an investigation into a shooting that happened on Greasy Branch Road earlier this week. The deceased victim and the surviving victim were not from Swain County and were not residents of North Carolina.
