The Prince George’s County Police Department is currently investigating a fatal shooting on Mercantile Lane. According to a social media post from the PGPD, officers responded to the 1200 block of Mercantile Lane around 1 PM for a welfare check. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male and a child in a car suffering from gunshot wounds.

Authorities say the man and child were pronounced deceased at the scene. According to the preliminary investigation, detectives believe the shooting is a domestic-related, murder-suicide.
