The Springfield Police Department has announced the arrest of a suspect in a double murder on July 5. SPD says 40-year-old Jeffrey Garrett was arrested in Waynesboro, Mississippi for the July 5 murders of 46-year-old Jack Osborn and 44-year-old Melissa Evans.

On October 14, SPD’s Crime Stoppers received a tip that led to the arrest of Garrett. Authorities say Garrett is charged with two counts of 1st Degree Murder and two counts of Armed Criminal Action.

He is being held without bond. No other details are available at this time.
