The Bremerton Police Department is investigating a homicide in the 800 block of 6th Street. According to a media release from BPD, officers responded to a report of a stabbing in the 800 block of 6th Street around 9:12 a.m. on March 31, 2024. At the scene, responding officers found one victim with severe injuries.
The victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Officers found the suspect nearby and took them into custody without incident. BPD says officers learned that two 36-year-old men were involved in a verbal altercation earlier that morning.
The men reportedly separated but met up again and the fatal assault occurred. During the assault, a knife was used to inflict fatal injuries on the victim. The suspect was transported to Saint Michael’s Medical Center for treatment. Then, he was booked into the Kitsap County Jail on a charge of Murder 2nd Degree.
BPD believes the suspect and victim were known to each other. Both were residents of Bremerton.
