An 18-year-old Akron, Ohio male was arrested in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred on August 3, 2023, in the City of Green. Sirvonte Suggs was remanded to the Summit County Jail on an aggravated murder charge.

Summit County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to Interstate 77 to investigate a report of a shooting. The investigation revealed a Lincoln SUV and pickup truck were traveling southbound on I-77 when a passenger in the truck fired several shots into the Lincoln, hitting the driver several times. The Lincoln drove over the median into the northbound lanes, eventually hitting a Mercedes.

Green Fire Department transported both drivers of the Mercedes and Lincoln to Akron City Hospital. The driver of the Lincoln SUV was later pronounced deceased at the hospital.

Investigators with the Summit County Sheriff’s Office determined Sirvonte Suggs and the driver of the Lincoln were in a dispute before the shooting.

December 11, 2023, a search warrant at a residence on Florida Avenue in Akron, Ohio, found electronics, ammunition, and drugs. SWAT apprehended Suggs during the search.
