The Thornton Police Department was involved in an officer-involved shooting on Sunday night after responding to a call about a suicidal individual. TPD reports that there was a large police presence in the 9700 block of Washington Street.

The initial reports indicate that shots were fired and the situation involved a suicidal subject. Negotiators responded to the scene. In a later update, TPD reported that an officer-involved shooting had occurred.

One man was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. Updates will be provided accordingly.
