Suffolk Police investigating shooting that is possibly road rage related

The Suffolk Police Department is investigating a shooting incident that may be a case of road rage. Suffolk 911 received a call for shorts fired in the 5600 block of Shoulders Hill Road around 1:34 p.m. on March 9, 2024. As officers were en route to the scene, another call was received from Sentara BelleHarbour Hospital advising that a 29-year-old man had self-transported to the hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

SPD said the preliminary investigation indicates that there was a traffic incident before the shooting. The suspect vehicle was allegedly driving erratically and recklessly in the 3900 block of Bridge Road. At this time, there is no suspect information although the suspect vehicle is described as a white SUV. SPD said officers recovered three shell casings from the scene.
