The Stockton Police Department has arrested two men in connection to a fatal shooting on November 28, 2023. SPD reports that officers responded to the 3900 block of North Pershing Avenue for a person shot around 2:06 a.m. on November 28, 2023.

At the scene, officers found a 26-year-old male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Lifesaving measures were taken, but the victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the time.

On February 9, 2024, detectives say they identified 34-year-old Marvin Gaines in connection to the homicide. Gaines was taken into custody in Nevada on February 9. On August 20, 2024, SPD detectives say they identified 27-year-old Jabarie Galvin as a suspect in the homicide.

Galvin was taken into custody and booked into the San Joaquin County Jail.
