A man is in custody in connection to a homicide earlier this month. Around 2 a.m. on August 3, 2024, Stockton Police Department officers responded to a residence in the 200 block of East Churchill Street for a report of a person shot.

At the scene, officers found a 31-year-old female victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to an area hospital where she passed away. Detectives have continued working on the case.

40-year-old Jason Cinotti was identified as a suspect in the case, according to authorities. On August 27, Cinotti was taken into custody. He has been booked into the San Joaquin County Jail for homicide.
