Statesboro, Georgia – The Statesboro Police Department is investigating a shooting incident in Pinewood Manor. According to SPD, officers responded to the scene and found 17-year-old Nasir Johnson deceased from gunshot wounds.
Police said in a statement that two 16-year-old males also suffered gunshot wounds. One was taken to Memorial in Savannah in stable condition. The second 16-year-old victim was taken to East Georgia Regional where he was treated and released.
Detectives believe the shootings occurred after a physical altercation between two groups in the complex. After 24 hours of investigations, authorities served a search warrant at an apartment on Brampton Avenue.
Since then, a 14-year-old male juvenile has been charged with Murder and two counts of Aggravated Assault. The juvenile was booked into the Claxton Regional Youth Detention Center.
