The St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of a Breaux Man in connection to a weekend shooting. Around 1:04 a.m. on January 6, 2024, deputies responded to a 911 call about a shooting at a residence in the 1000 block of Clarence Angelle Road. At the scene, deputies found one male subject with a gunshot wound.

The victim was transported to a local hospital. According to the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office, deputies learned that the victim and 19-year-old Kendrick James Alexander Jr. were handling a firearm. At some point, Alexander allegedly pointed the gun at the victim and the firearm discharged. The victim was struck.

Alexander was charged with one count of Aggravated Battery and booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center.
