The Spokane Police Department is investigating a shooting that left one person dead on Friday. According to an SPD news release, officers responded to the area of Cleveland and Thor for a report of a shooting. At the scene, responding officers found an unresponsive individual on the sidewalk.

The victim was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Life-saving measures were taken, but the victim succumbed to his injuries. SPD says the area was locked down by patrol officers as they began looking for evidence. SPD Major Crimes Unit detectives responded to investigate. There is no suspect information at this time.

At a later time, the Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the identity of the victim.
