Spokane County Sheriff’s Office investigating mental health crisis incident after woman and two young children fell from upstairs apartment

The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a possible mental health crisis incident after a woman, a 10-month-old, and a 2-year-old were injured in a fall from an upstairs apartment. According to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office, Major Crimes Detectives are at the scene of the incident that left an adult female and two young children with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

All three were taken to an area hospital for treatment and evaluation. Investigators do not believe there is a threat to the general public and all involved individuals are accounted for. Around 6:35 p.m. on December 25, 2023, deputies responded to a report of an adult female and two children who fell from an upstairs apartment and were injured.

Deputies arrived at the apartment complex which is in the 13100 block of North Addison Street in North Spokane County. Authorities say initial information indicates that the female has a history of ongoing mental health crises and lives in a third-floor apartment with her 10-month-old and 2-year-old children. Major Crimes Detectives responded to investigate the matter.
